Spread of fire

  • Linings to prevent fire spread

  • Walls and ceiling materials

Floors and Stairs

  • Stopping fire from spreading under the stairs

  • Don’t want the fire to go into the cavity of the stairs, then it goes to the cavity of the floor (endangers the structure of the building)

Definition of Walls

  • Glazing (not for doors)

  • Any part of the ceiling that slopes at an angle more than 70 or less to horizontal

  • The underside of gallery

  • The underside of roof exposed to the room

  • Excludes : trap doors

Thermoplastic materials

  • Can be used for windows, lighting diffusers, roof lights

  • In panels to form suspended ceiling (flexible thermoplastic)

Stretched skin ceiling

  • Membrane from panels (flexible thermoplastic)

  • Should not exceed 5m squared

  • Supported on all sides

  • Prevent harm when it falls due to fire
