Wooden Eye ~ 'Sciera'

Architect David Adjaye designed this pavilion for the London Design Festival, in 2008 from September to mid-October. The structure is built entirely out of American Tulipwood, a hardwood that has the qualities of flexibility, strength, attractive grain and varying colour hues, that ranges from pale yellow through to mid brown.

The Pavilion has two rooms, with the ceiling made up of 910 planks, at varying lengths, being suspended from the roof.
